Rund um das Schmalbachtal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Taumelland war mit fachkundiger Begleitung wandern im Hinterlandswald. Der Hinterlandswald bildet das gr\u00f6\u00dfte zusammenh\u00e4ngende \u2013 nicht durch Stra\u00dfen zerschnittene – Waldgebiet Hessens. Im Wesentlichen besteht es aus dem Ernstbachtal und seinen Nebent\u00e4lern bis hinunter zum Wispertal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf Grund seiner Abgeschiedenheit ist er einer der gr\u00f6\u00dften R\u00fcckzugsgebiete f\u00fcr Wildtiere in Hessen. Es ist auch eines der abgeschiedensten Gebiete in der N\u00e4he von Frankfurt. Obwohl nicht weit vom Rhein-Main Gebiet entfernt, findet kaum eine Menschenseele den Weg hierher. Besonders im Winter nicht.
\u00a0Im Winter kann es mehrere Tage lang dauern bis sich Irgendjemand in die tiefen T\u00e4ler des Hinterlandswald verirrt. So erz\u00e4hlt es mir meine Begleitung. Hier im Ernstbachtal gebe es Raben, F\u00fcchse, Wildscheine und W\u00f6lfe. Das glaube ich gerne. Wir konnten die Spuren von Wildschweinen, die Schn\u00fcrung von F\u00fcchsen im Schnee bestimmen und die Raben rufen h\u00f6ren. \u00a0Aber Wolfsspuren haben wir leider keine gefunden. \u00a0Daf\u00fcr aber eine \u201eWolfkamera\u201c an der Wickersheller-Br\u00fccke -einem \u201eZwangs-Wildwechsel\u201c zwischen Wickertal und Applbachtal. Die Kamera wurde samt Erkl\u00e4rung von dem Hlnug (Hessisches Landesamt f\u00fcr Naturschutz, Umwelt und Geologie) und dem Wolfszentrum Hessen aufgestellt.\u00a0 Erstmals wurden W\u00f6lfe 2021 im Hinterlandswald nachgewiesen, es handelte sich um das erste Wolfsrudel in Hessen. (Wikipedia<\/a>). Aber wie schon gesagt, so gerne ich sie treffen w\u00fcrde, so wenig scheinen sie auf meine (unsere) Gesellschaft wertzulegen. Zum Gl\u00fcck habe ich einen guten Freund, der die seltenen Wildtiere nur so anzieht und das auch schon \u00f6fter unter Beweis gestellt hat. So hat er bei einem gemeinsamen Urlaub, B\u00e4ren, Kojoten und noch viel mehr, was kreucht und fleucht und Selten ist ersp\u00e4ht, wo ich erstmals gar nichts zu Gesicht bekommen habe. Ich werde ihn mal zu einem gemeinsamen Ausflug zu den W\u00f6lfen des Hinterlandwaldes \u00fcberreden. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Hinterlandswald hat seinen Namen von seiner Lage au\u00dferhalb des Rheingauer Geb\u00fccks, einen ehemaligen schwer zu durchdringenden Schutzwall aus Hainbuchen-Hecken, die zur Zugangskontrolle des Rheingaus errichtet worden war. Hinterlandswald bezeichnete die zur Landallmende geh\u00f6renden W\u00e4lder au\u00dferhalb des Geb\u00fccks. Im Unterschied zum Vorderlandswald, dessen Nutzungsrechte unter den Rheingau Gemeinden aufgeteilt worden war (Wikipedia<\/a>). \u00a0Taumellands gef\u00fchrte, winterliche Wanderung f\u00fchrte von Stephanshausen einmal rund um das Schmalbachtal. Technisch ist die Wanderung weitestgehend unproblematisch und als leicht zu bezeichnen. Aber eine kleine Schwierigkeit gilt es doch zu bew\u00e4ltigen. Auf dem Weg hinab ins Ernstbachtal \u00fcberquert man den gleichnamigen Bach an der schon erw\u00e4hnten Wickersheller-Br\u00fccke \u2013 kein Problem, nur muss man den Ernstbach \u2013 wenn man das Schmalbachtal wieder hinaufwill, um zum Ausgangspunkt zur\u00fcckzukehren- ein zweiten Mal \u00fcberqueren und hier gibt es nur eine Furt. F\u00fchrt der Ernstbach Hochwasser kann das Furten sich als schwierig erweisen und man muss vielleicht wieder umdrehen, oder dem Ernstbach talabw\u00e4rts folgend weiter unten sein Gl\u00fcck versuchen. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Brombeerhecken<\/a>
Ausgedehnte Brombeerhecken dominieren die Rodungsfl\u00e4chen. Sie bieten jungen Baum-Trieben einen guten Schutz vor Wildverbiss. Schmalbachtal, Wispertaunus, Januar 2025<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
