Im Oktober 2021 besuchte taumelland das Hohe Venn. Das Hohe Venn ist eine auf einem Hochplateau gelegene Moor- und Heidelandschaft zwischen Deutschland und Belgien. Gepr\u00e4gt wird die Landschaft durch das allgegenw\u00e4rtige Pfeifengras, kleine T\u00fcmpel und Heidefl\u00e4chen. Oft als Bohlensteige angelegte Wege erschlie\u00dfen das Venn Wander*innen und Spazierg\u00e4nger*innen.
Angetan hatten es mir die vielen Birken, die mal einzeln mal in kleinen Hainen wachsend aus der Landschaft herausragen. Fr\u00fcher dienten ihre St\u00e4mme wohl auch der Holzgewinnung. Ich denke aber, dass sie heute im Naturschutzgebiet Hohes Venn \u2013 im Rahmen der Renaturierung urspr\u00fcnglicher Moor- und Heidefl\u00e4chen – einfach so vor sich hinwachsen k\u00f6nnen.  Das Schimmern ihrer Rinde im Sonnenlicht verleiht der Landschaft einen charmanten Glanz.
Im Laufe des Jahres wird taummelland Beitr\u00e4ge zu anderen Aspekte des Hohen Venn ver\u00f6ffentlichen. Taumelland kann das Hohe Venn als raues, relativ einsames Wandergebiet nur w\u00e4rmsten empfehlen.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
