Ich mag die gro\u00dfen Gew\u00e4chsh\u00e4user in botanischen G\u00e4rten mit ihren fein s\u00e4uberlich getrennten Habitaten und ihren darin beheimateten exotischen Pflanzen. Ich wandere von Raum zu Raum und reise dabei m\u00fchelos einmal um den Globus und durchwandere dabei auch noch fast alle Klimazonen der Erde. Vor mir \u00f6ffnet sich eine sensorisch gesteuerte T\u00fcr und schwuppdiwupp! – stehe ich im Regenwald (aber einem ohne Moskitos oder anderem unangenehmen Getier) – nachdem ich eben noch in einer W\u00fcstenwelt nach einer Oase gesucht habe. Dazu die liebevoll gestalteten kleinen Welten und die unz\u00e4hligen liebevoll drapierten Pflanzen. Jede hat ihr eigenes Schildchen. Darauf steht ihr lateinischer Name und oft auch ihr \u201eTrivialname\u201c und ihre Familie. Alles hat Sinn und Ordnung in einem Gew\u00e4chshaus. Ich bestaune die Pflanzen und schaue auf die dazugeh\u00f6rigen Schilder um mir ihre Namen einzupr\u00e4gen. Ich wei\u00df genau, dass ich mir letztendlich keinen einzigen davon werde behalten k\u00f6nnen.
Bis auf vielleicht : Crocosima, Montbretien, Schwertliliengew\u00e4chse (Iridaceae). Die habe ich beim Wandern auf Madeira kennengelernt. Au\u00dferdem finde ich das \u201eMontbretien\u201c, ein lustiger Name f\u00fcr die h\u00fcbschen, orange bl\u00fchenden Pflanzen ist, klingt f\u00fcr mich irgendwie als w\u00e4ren sie versnobt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moderne botanische G\u00e4rten \u2013 wie der Berliner \u2013 sehen sich als St\u00e4tten der Wissenschaft und H\u00fcter der Biodiversit\u00e4t. Ich aber schiebe mir meinen imaginierten Tropenhelm in den Nacken, wische mir den Schwei\u00df von der Stirn und warte darauf, dass der Tiger aus dem Busch bricht, oder wenigstens Alexander von Humbolt auf seinem Weg zum Rio Negro mal auf einen Plausch vorbeischaut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
