Neulich stolperte ich  beim Wandern \u00fcber einen sogenannten \u201eSingle Trail\u201c. Also einen von Mountainbikern f\u00fcr Mountainbiker angelegten und mit allerlei Hindernissen und Schikanen gespickten Pfad, dessen Bew\u00e4ltigung mal mehr, mal weniger viel Mut und Fahrtechnik erfordert. Gemeinsam ist den Trails, dass sie schmal sind und \u00fcber naturbelassenen Untergrund f\u00fchren.
Ich hatte wie so oft die Abfahrtszeiten der Busse nach Wiesbaden nicht beachtet – der n\u00e4chste Bus sollte in zwei Stunden kommen \u2013 und beschloss, dann eben zu Fu\u00df zu gehen.  
So nebenbei bemerkt glaube ich, dass ein nicht unerheblicher Teil meiner zur\u00fcckgelegten monatlichen Laufkilometer auf meiner Weigerung Busfahrpl\u00e4ne zu studieren beruht :-).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich wollte nicht unbedingt auf alten und mir wohlbekannten Wegen ins Tal absteigen und bog kurzentschlossen auf einen schmalen Pfad ein, der zumindest den Berg herab f\u00fchrte.
Schnell wurde mir klar, dass es sich um keinen gew\u00f6hnlichen Fu\u00dfweg oder Wildwechsel handelte sondern um eine Strecke f\u00fcr Mountainbiker. Ich stie\u00df auf Sprungschanzen und andere Hindernisse, und in den staubigen Untergrund hatten sich die Reifenprofile diverser Fahrr\u00e4der eingegraben. Dabei war der Weg so kunstvoll angelegt worden, dass ich ihn mit zunehmender Begeisterung bergab wanderte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mal klebte der Weg an einem mit Fichten bewachsenen Steilhang, mal schl\u00e4ngelte er sich durch einen jungen Laubwald, selten f\u00fchrte er geradeaus und niemals war er langweilig. Ein wahres Meisterwerk, dass mich an die harmonisch angelegten Flanierwege durch die englischen Landschaftsg\u00e4rten des 18. Jahrhunderts denken lie\u00df. Naturalisierte der Landschaftspark noch die gesellschaftliche Stellung des Adels und Gro\u00dfb\u00fcrgertums so steht der \u201eSingel Trail\u201c aber mehr f\u00fcr \u201eCarbon und Endorphine\u201c, also einer postmodernen Melange aus Konsum und Selbsterfahrung.
Als \u201eNatursportler\u201c tr\u00e4gt man – nicht nur als Mountainbiker \u2013 oft das gesamte \u201eDilemma der Globalisierung\u201c  in Form von High-Tech Funktionsbekleidung quasi am K\u00f6rper oder im Fall des Mountainbikens sitzt man eben auch drauf. Das steht meiner Auffassung nach schon in einem gewissen Spannungsverh\u00e4ltnis zu einer intrinsischen \u201eNaturerfahrung\u201c \u2013 oder aber erm\u00f6glicht sie vielleicht auch erst? \u2026 dass soll an dieser Stelle mal egal bleiben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kurzerhand beschloss ich sobald wie m\u00f6glich den Weg noch einmal abzuwandern und Ihn f\u00fcr Taumelland mit der Kamera zu dokumentieren.
Manchmal ist es auch ein Gl\u00fcck nicht alles durchgeplant zu haben, sonst h\u00e4tte ich diesen Single Trail nie gefunden!
Die Mountainbiker und der Wald sind ein Kapitel f\u00fcr sich. Das Mountainbiken ist von seinen Anf\u00e4ngen ( 1973 in Kalifornien ) bis heute \u2013 dem Zeitalter des E-Mountainbikes –  zu einem Volks- und Gesundheitssport geworden. Genauso wie f\u00fcr andere Sportarten braucht es eine Sportst\u00e4tte also einen Ort wo es ausge\u00fcbt werden kann. So geh\u00f6rt zum Fu\u00dfball der Fu\u00dfballplatz, zum Golf der Golfplatz zum Schwimmen das Schwimmbad etc. und zum Mountainbiker eben Berge (oder zumindest kupiertes Gel\u00e4nde)  und eben auch der Wald. Kurzgesagt es ist ein Sport in der Natur \u2013 ein Natursport \u2013 aber eben auch ein Sport der die Natur als \u201eSportger\u00e4t\u201c ben\u00f6tigt.
Das f\u00fchrt zu Konflikten mit anderen \u201eNatursportlern\u201c wie den J\u00e4gern und Wanderern. Auch die Forstwirtschaft zeigt sich ob der vielen Single Trails im Stadtwald wenig begeistert. J\u00fcngst erschien erst ein Artikel im Wiesbadner Kurier zum Thema (WK 04.05 \u201eAbseits der erlaubten Wege\u201c), der die Meinung des Forstamtes so zusammenfast: \u201e Die Trails schaden der Natur und schrecken die Tiere auf\u201c!  Das Forstamt spricht in dem Artikel von einer zunehmenden Versch\u00e4rfung des Problems mit \u201eillegal angelegten Trails\u201c.
So werden die Wege, wenn Sie entdeckt worden sind, vom Forstamt auch wieder zerst\u00f6rt und unbrauchbar gemacht. Die Mountainbiker setzen sie dann bei n\u00e4chster Gelegenheit wieder in Stand. Es l\u00e4uft wohl auf ein \u201eHase und Igel\u201c  Spiel im Stadtwald hinaus. Wobei das Forstamt den Igel mimt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So gibt in Wiesbaden nur eine einzige legale (Downhill) Mountainbike Strecke, den sogenannten \u201eGravity Trail\u201c am Schl\u00e4ferskopf,<\/a> der von einem Verein unterhalten wird.
Andererseits ist in den einschl\u00e4gigen Portalen und Online-Karten eine Vielzahl von \u201eSingle Trails\u201c im Wiesbadener Stadtwald verzeichnet.
Naja, mir scheint das eine tragf\u00e4higer auf gegenseitiger Missachtung beruhender Kompromiss zu sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
