Art of open Doors project in Rua de Santa Maria of Funchal<\/h4>\n

Eher zuf\u00e4llig fielen mir die vielen bemalten T\u00fcren in der historischen Altstadt von Funchal \u2013 der Hauptstadt Madeiras – auf. Erst beim Recherchieren habe ich dann feststellen k\u00f6nnen, dass es sich bei den gestalteten T\u00fcren um ein bekanntes Kunst-Projekt handelte.
\n\u201cDie Kunst der offenen T\u00fcren\u201c wie es Hernado Urrutia der Urheber des Projekts zusammenfasste. Das Projekt startete 2011 und forderte die Bewohner und Besucher der damals heruntergekommenen Altstadt dazu auf, ihre Perspektive auf das Viertel zu ver\u00e4ndern. Die k\u00fcnstlerische Umgestaltung der T\u00fcren sollte die Wahrnehmung des sozialen Raums f\u00fcr Bewohner und Besucher positiv ver\u00e4ndern. Also ein Weckruf f\u00fcr ein lebenswertes Stadtviertel.
\nGestaltet wurden die T\u00fcren von Allen, die sich dazu berufen f\u00fchlten; es gab keine Einschr\u00e4nkung ob besonderer k\u00fcnstlerischer F\u00e4higkeiten oder Herkunft. So sind einige T\u00fcren auch von Touristen gestaltet worden.<\/p>\n

Die meisten der T\u00fcren befinden sich in der Rua de Santa Maria, eine Gasse die die Altstadt vom Hafen leicht ansteigend \u00fcber die alte Festung hinauf bis zum Schwimmbad durchzieht.
\nFr\u00fcher lebten in diesem historischen Stadtviertel in der Mehrzahl Fischer und Handwerker. Heute f\u00fchrt die Gasse zwei Leben. Morgens bis ungef\u00e4hr 10:00 Uhr gibt sie sich pittoresk und romantisch. So nimmt man entspannt beim B\u00e4cker seine ersten Kaffee und kaut dazu verschlafen auf seinem Croissant herum.
\nAb10:00 mutiert die Rua de Santa Maria dann zu einer belebten \u201eRestaurant- Stra\u00dfe\u201c. Markisen werden herabgelassen, Sonnenschirme gespannt, Tische, St\u00fchle, B\u00e4nke, Personenstopper(Speisekarten) auf die Gasse ger\u00e4umt und die \u201eT\u00fcrsteher\/Ausrufer\u201c beziehen Ihre Positionen vor den einzelnen Restaurants. Von den T\u00fcren und Fassaden bleibt kaum noch was zusehen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr mich hat das Projekt sehr viel Charme. Mir gefiel die sinnliche Melange aus bewusstem Gestalten und unbewusstem gestalterischen Nebeneinander. T\u00fcren und Fassaden bilden eine Freiluft-Galerie, die einem permanenten Wandel unterliegt. Verfall, morbide Eleganz und Neubeginn liegen hier dicht beieinander.<\/p>\n

Das Projekt ist sehr gut dokumentiert. Einen Link dazu findet Ihr unten. Ich habe circa100 unterschiedliche T\u00fcren aufgenommen, es gab und gibt? wohl \u00fcber 200.
\nViele die in der Projekt-Dokumentation auftauchen konnte ich nicht mehr finden oder sie sind hinter den Winterg\u00e4rten der Restaurants verschwunden. Daf\u00fcr sind Andere – nicht dokumentierte – hinzugekommen. Ich habe 24 T\u00fcren\/Fassaden f\u00fcr die Galerie ausgew\u00e4hlt. Soweit es mir m\u00f6glich war, habe ich aus der Dokumentation die K\u00fcnstler\/in und den Ort \u00fcbernommen.<\/p>\n
